

Meriter is a 448 bed nonprofit hospital located in Downtown Madison, WI offering a full range of medical and surgical services. Meriter’s many accolades include the 2009 Gold Annual Performance Award for “Get with the Guidelines” by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers and were chosen as one of Thompson Reuters Top 100 Hospitals of 2009.
In an effort to provide the best in patient care and service beginning at the curbside, Meriter chose HealthPark to provide complete valet services beginning January 1st, 2010. The response from hospital administration and patients has been both immediate and positive.

Why HealthPark
HealthPark was chosen to provide this service for it's history & dedication to service, care & compassion at the curbside. Meriter reached out to HealthPark to optimize their parking operations while offering compassionate care beyond the front door. In addition to meeting Meriter's valet service goals, HealthPark has taken the service to the next level by also providing the following:
- Wheelchair assistance
- Improved traffic flow
- Increased visibility with directional signage
- Way finding
Implementation Details
HealthPark began its operational assessment by spending several days on site observing patient flow, observing traffic challenges and collecting administrative data necessary to effectively implement an efficient valet service with safety at the forefront. HealthPark conducted over 50 interviews to identify 8 individuals that shared the same passion for service and team oriented work ethic that HeakthPark and its clients have grown to expect. After procuring the necessary equipment, the valet staff completed Meriter's new employee orientation and the service opened on schedule with great success.
Service to Date
HealthPark's plan exceeded the expectations of hospital administrators, patients and guests. There was an immediate increase in patient and visitor satisfaction. The service has recently expanded to include Meriter community volunteers, which proved to be a welcome addition to hospital employee satisfaction. The valet service has certainly become part of Meriter's mission to serve the community for a lifetime of quality healthcare.
